Let's Go!

This morning, Henry climbed into one of our dining rooms chairs, dug his hand down into the diaper bag/purse, and pulled out my car keys.  He then climbed out of the chair, looked at me, and said, "Let's go!" and headed for the back door.

I was still in my pajamas (it was early this morning!)

So I asked him, "Where do you want to go?"

His response?  "I don't know."  At least, that's kinda what it sounded like, so that's what I'm going with!  lol

I told him I had to get dressed before we could go and that we had to find my missing

Crazy

Vacation Bible School starts in less than two hours, and I am flat out exhausted.  All I have done today is try to get the last minute crafts, props, and papers together to start this thing off.  I am tired, and I am having a really hard time finding any excitement about this.  I actually feel physically nauseous from just feeling like I can't get it all done before tonight.  I need to be at church in an hour, and I have to fix supper and get all the stuff to the car and take care of Henry, too, and it's just too much!  AAGGHHHH!!!!!!

I went to the Dollar Tr

New Toy

Well, it's new to us anyway.  Henry and I stopped by our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore to look for filing cabinets and dressers.  While I didn't find anything I just had to have or really needed, as we were leaving, I saw this.

I don't have a clue how old it is or anything (I'm planning to go a'googling after I finish this post!) but I said, "Look Henry!" and he said, "Ride!" so I let him have a look at it.  It fits him perfectly!  Plus, it's all wood except for the wh

Happy Anniversary To Me!

Today is John's and my sixth anniversary.  Six!  Time has really flown by, but I wouldn't change any of it for the world.  Including the eloping part back on this day at like 9:30 in the morning!  :o)  Then, we ate breakfast at the McDonald's down the street.  They actually tore that McDonald's down and rebuilt a new one over the same spot.  It was kind of sad.  I remember sitting in there that morning with my new husband and one of our witnesses, eating my sausage biscuit, looking out the front window at all the traffic.  Time marches on ev

Blueberries

I read a great blog today by Lauren over at Hobo Mama that talked all about involving your children in your cooking.  (Holy crap, y'all, I just made my first link thingy--woohoo!)  And I thought to myself, I said, "Self, that is a great idea for Henry!  He loves to help stir things!  We shall make cake-mix cookies when he gets up from his nap, and we will do them together!"

The New Diapers Are Here!

Henry's new cloth diapers are here, and they are so cool!  They are pocket diapers, like what we already have, but we bought these specifically to use when we are out and about.  They are easier to get on him--and faster, too--and that's a good thing when you can't always choose where you have to change your baby.

I feel almost guilty, though, because they are so easy to use that I don't really feel like I'm cloth diapering.  Which I totally am, because they're still cloth.  It's just they are so easy to use.  I don't know why I always feel like I have

Breastfeeding is Beautiful, Nursing is Normal--How Alliterative!

Here's a blog post I came across today that made me smile:

http://honest2betsy.blogspot.com/2010/07/nursing-is-normal.html

It's all about breastfeeding and how it's normal to do so.  I loved it!  While I try not to be some crazy lady flopping my boobs everywhere for the whole world to see just so I can say, "Look at me!  I breastfeed!" I do think it's the best nourishment for our little ones.  And I think if you can do it, you should.  There are, of course, special cases wh

New Diapers

In my last blog post, I mentioned how there was a great sale going on over at www.kellyscloset.com, the online store where I buy most of Henry's diapers.  But, we were sticking to our budget, so I wasn't pushing the issue.  Well, after looking at the budget last night, John said we had a little wiggle room to get the diapers, so I ordered them last night!  Yay!  I cannot wait for them to get here.  They are all-in-ones, and they are one-size, so Henry can wear them until he potty trains.  Plus, I had a coupon code to ge

All The News You Can Shake A Stick At

Yeah, I don't know where that title came from, but it's what popped into my head!

Here's what you missed in Nettles Land:

~We had our annual Independence Day Cookout on Saturday, July 3.  Since July 4 was on a Sunday, and we had church, we held the cookout a day earlier.  It wound up being a lot of fun, and I think most everyone enjoyed themselves.  It's just a huge undertaking, and with trying to rearrange our house for Miss B to come stay here, I didn't feel in the mood to do the cookout.  But, as always, it turned out beautifully.  *sigh*  Yo

Language Explosion

Here are some words (and phrases) Henry is saying now:

~mama

~dada

~a mama ("Hey mama"--too cute when he sees me and waves and says this)

~i dada ("Hi dada"--why I get hey and John gets hi, I don't know, but he'll wave at John and say this)

~eye ("light"--he points to light switches and to lights and says this until you let him turn the light switch on and off, and he looks at the light while he's doing it)

~eye ("eye"--he can point to his eye or your eye, depending on which one you ask him to do)

~eye ("ride"--he tried to ride on his
