All The News You Can Shake A Stick At

Yeah, I don't know where that title came from, but it's what popped into my head!

Here's what you missed in Nettles Land:

~We had our annual Independence Day Cookout on Saturday, July 3.  Since July 4 was on a Sunday, and we had church, we held the cookout a day earlier.  It wound up being a lot of fun, and I think most everyone enjoyed themselves.  It's just a huge undertaking, and with trying to rearrange our house for Miss B to come stay here, I didn't feel in the mood to do the cookout.  But, as always, it turned out beautifully.  *sigh*  You'd think I'd quit worrying about stuff so much.

~VBS is coming up soon at church.  We are doing a curriculum from Answers in Genesis; it's a company that uses science to show that the Bible is accurate.  The youth are doing a DVD series on how creation is backed up by science.  I think it will be really good.  We haven't used a prepared curriculum in several years, and I had forgotten how much stuff goes along with a curriculum like this.

~Henry just does cuter and cuter stuff every day.  He has learned to say "apple" and says it whenever he wants an apple...or sees a tomato.  To him, all red foods are apples, but I guess that's kinda cool because he's putting together the idea that apples are that color and so, to him, all foods of that color are apples, even when they are tomatoes.  Every time I say, "That's a tomato," he says, "Oh."

~Our neighbors took their ponies to PA to sell them, so now Henry goes to the barn and looks in it, looking for the horsey.  It's cute, but kind of sad, because this animal that he loved so much is gone.

~I want to buy more cloth diapers, not because I necessarily need them, but because they are on great sale, and I could get seven all-in-ones or pocket diapers AND a tub of diaper rash ointment for about $100.  That's like $12 a diaper, when they are usually about $20 each.  But we didn't budget for that, since we have enough cloth diapers, and following our budget honors God more than buying more diapers.  So, I will just wish for them from afar.

~Finally, here's an absolutely adorable picture of Henry.  I could seriously eat that kid with a spoon!  :o)

We hosted a July 4th party here today with 50 people!
Remembered the year we celebrated with you all!

Sad too, with Henry, that the ponies are gone! ;(

Henry is a perfect

Henry is a perfect little boy, and he is the picture of perfection!  Your photos of him seem to always capture the many sides of this wonderful little boy!  He really enjoyed being able to walk around the yard and barn during the July 3rd cook-out.  He was the perfect little host, something he has learned from watching you and John interact with other people. The cookout was GREAT!  As usual, you put on a very happy event, with delicious food and plenty of it!  When Henry starts attending Vacation Bible School he will really amaze you with the things he will learn, and do, and read!  Thank you for being an awesome mom and daughter! I love you! Love forever, Mom

Henry is such a cutie pie.

Henry is such a cutie pie. :)  I  know you will do so well at VBS.  That is very exciting that you are doing Answers in Genesis.  Have fun with it! =)
