On Tuesday this past week, Henry and I were playing in his room. Really, he was playing, and I was trying to pick up the destruction he left behind as he went on to some other escapade. Anyway, he looked at a box in his room that has a picture of a baby on it, said "Be be" and walked over to it. "Yes," I said. "That's a baby." He put his finger on the baby's forehead and said, "Be be" very emphatically. "Be be." "Yes! That's a baby! Good job, Henry!" said the very proud mommy.
Really, I was proud of him. He's been saying "be be" for months now, but never has he associated the word with a picture. He won't even say mama if I ask him who I am. He'll call for me if he wakes up and John goes and picks him up, so I know he knows who I am, but the word association thing hadn't been something he was showing me.
Until Tuesday. Yay little man!
Henry's Be Be is just another
Henry's Be Be is just another way he is showing all of us that he has known all along what we are saying, and now he is letting us know that he can converse with us just like any one else!
(It says a lot about talking to an infant using adult words and language instead of using "baby-talk", too.)
Henry is so smart! Maybe he will begin letting us into his wonderful, young world a lot more now that he knows we understand what he is saying!!
I love you!
Love forever, Mom
yay for the bebe
yay bebe Henry!
