So, I've been sitting here listening to Matt Maher's "Hold Us Together" now for at least 30 minutes, hitting play every time the song ends. Here is the link to the song: www.youtube.com/watch
I do that when I like something: I replay it and replay it ad nauseum. But the song reminds me of our youth group at church. I want this song to be what my youth group thinks about when they think about the youth group. *oops, song ended, had to hit replay* Tomorrow, all the youth girls and I are going to Goodwill and the Salvation Army to find craptastic 80s dresses for one of our skits for Youth Sunday. And I want these experiences to be the types of things that these kids remember years later when their kids are in the youth group at church. I have such great memories from youth as a teen, and I want to create those for our youth group.
We are having Youth Sunday in exactly four weeks from this Sunday. April 25 is the big day! I am so excited! *song over, must hit replay again* We wrote our skits together, and the youth are going to showcase their talents, and I think it is on par to be the best Youth Day we've ever put together. We've laughed more and bonded more over this than any of the last Youth Sundays. I hope they think back on these times with fond memories. I know I do.
I don't really know the point of this blog post. I just really like that song, and it gets me to thinking (the mark of a good song, in my opinion.)

I think it is great that you have such a passion for the youth in the group. I hope you guys have a lot of fun!
