Here are some words (and phrases) Henry is saying now:
~mama
~dada
~a mama ("Hey mama"--too cute when he sees me and waves and says this)
~i dada ("Hi dada"--why I get hey and John gets hi, I don't know, but he'll wave at John and say this)
~eye ("light"--he points to light switches and to lights and says this until you let him turn the light switch on and off, and he looks at the light while he's doing it)
~eye ("eye"--he can point to his eye or your eye, depending on which one you ask him to do)
~eye ("ride"--he tried to ride on his little truck today...yeah, that didn't happen seeing as it's only about ten inches long!)
~bye
~or-see ("horsey"--he loves looking at and petting the neighbor's ponies...if we go outside, he also says "or-see" and points to the barn)
~see (he likes to see out the windows)
~shees ("shoes"--the boy loves wearing some shoes, even if he doesn't have any pants on!)
~shees ah ("shoes on")
~nigh nigh ("night night"--we say it to him, and he says it back to us--sometimes, he'll even blow you a kiss afterwards!)
~ba ee ("potty")
~dub ("tub")
~beh ee ("belly"--he says this while touching his belly button)
~doh dog ("dog dog"--he always says it twice, I have no idea why)
~be be ("baby"--if he sees a baby on the computer screen, on the TV, in a book, in real life, he points to it and calls it by name....very sweet)
I'm sure there are more, and I know he says stuff that I just can't understand yet. I love that he is saying so many words. I have no clue if he's where he's supposed to be developmentally; I don't read the development charts because all they do is make me anxious about where he is compared to other babies. And comparing him to other babies is pointless because they all grow at different rates. He's exactly where God wants him at this stage in his life, and that's all that matters!
Now if I can only remind myself of that point when I think about my own life. :o)
Henry is so smart! He also
Henry is so smart! He also loves blowing bubbles and, when he says bu-bu and smiles his angelic smile, none of us can resist blowing bubbles with him, for as long as he wants to blow bubbles!
I wonder what he will call his sand-box when he gets in it, since he likes playing in sand!
We love and adore Henry and are so proud of him, and how much he is learning and doing. How lucky we are that he loves sharing his wonderful thoughts with us! Love forever, Mom
right
You are right, Mom, I forgot buh buh for bubbles.
We can also add:
~ippo for hippo
~appuh for apple
~I don't know how to spell it, but he was trying to say "hallelujah" to go along with one of our VBS songs. Too cute!
so sweet
He is growing by leaps and bounds - don't you love this age! I think you are smart to ignore the developmental stuff most of the time. I check it a couple times a year to see what I can challenge Peanut with but I used to check it monthly- what a waste! God grows them up at their own pace and you are far ahead of the curve to realize this and your little one's little age.
