Who Would Have Thought

Who would have thought that this...

...would be a vegetable that my child would actually like to eat!?

We had steamed veggies the other night, and I put a pod of sugar snap peas and a steamed carrot on Henry's plate, in addition to his piece of quesadilla.  He ignored both the peas and the carrots.  But, when I opened up the pea pod so he could see the little peas inside, he took great pride in picking each individual pea out of the pod and eating it.  And he seemed to like them!  Sugar snap peas are pretty good.  So Henry ate most of the sugar snap peas (minus the pods) and I ate all the steamed carrots.  I told John we saved the asparagus for him...he said to not worry about saving it!  ;o)  (John hates asparagus.)

Here is a picture of Henry with his peas.

The collar of his shirt even matches his peas...totally unintentional!

Here are a couple pictures from Henry's actual first birthday: January 5.  It was bedtime, and John was reading Henry his bedtime story.

Notice Henry's left hand.  He always goes for John's pocket because he knows John keeps a pen in there, along with some things from work.  It's like a treasure hunt every night!

He is looking so grown up.  More toddlerish.  Less babyish.  Don't you agree?

yup

he's a cutie- what is it with beans/peas- my little guy loves they too
