Life...

I got to thinking this morning about my life, as I was sitting on my couch feeding Henry.

When I was in elementary school, I wanted to be the first female astronaut to go to Mars. I wanted to be the first female president of the United States. In kindergarten, I declared that I was going to be a teacher, and whatever grade I happened to be in at the time was the grade I wanted to teach. In high school, I wanted to be a pharmacist or a brain surgeon or a doctor.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is this Sunday, and it's my first Mother's Day with my precious baby in my arms, not just in my tummy! I have to admit, I'm pretty excited. I know Henry won't have a clue about it this year, and probably for several years to come, but it's still going to be sweet. My mom sent me a Mother's Day card from her and Daddy, but she also enclosed one from Henry. It was really cute.

Laughter is the best medicine...or is it?

Henry is 4 months old now. It is so hard to believe! It seems like just yesterday John and I were struggling with infertility, and now here we are with this beautiful, bright-eyed, curly-haired little boy. He's started laughing, and it's the most beautiful, pure sound in the entire world. Full of glee. Innocent. I love it! I would do just about anything in the world to hear him laugh.
