Wow, this has been such a busy week! It's hard to believe it's already Saturday.
Tuesday, I had an appointment with a periodontist because I noticed my gum tissue receding after I had Henry. Turns out, I will have to have a skin graft from my hard palate to cover up the recession. The doctor will do this on June 1. While it needs to be done, I'm not really excited about going through this.
Then, on Wednesday, I drove to SC to see my sister, who is completing her PhD in Chemistry. Three hours on the road with a little one isn't the most fun way to spend your time, but I was very thankful that Henry slept through most of it. Being in a new place was really hard for him, though, and he didn't want to take his afternoon nap or go to sleep that night. I really wondered if maybe I should just turn around and drive back home so he would sleep! I'm glad I didn't though, because he eventually fell asleep and slept pretty much all night. My sister and I ate pizza and watched old Disney movies; it was nice to get to spend some time with her. I kinda hope she'll move back up here to NC when she finishes her degree. She likes seeing Henry, and I like seeing her!
Thursday, I drove back to NC (another three hour jaunt with a four month old.) Again, Henry slept through most of it, which was a blessing. We actually stopped by to see Daddy at lunch time. Henry seemed so happy to see his Daddy; it was the cutest thing! He was just grinning like crazy while John was holding him. I think Daddy was happy to see his little man, too!
Friday I got sick. I haven't been sick in over a year. I don't know if it's allergies or a cold, but it sucks. It also seems like Henry is teething again (still no teeth!) so I don't feel good, and he doesn't feel good. He's asleep right now, and I'm about to go climb in my own bed.
I always thought life would be less hectic when I wasn't teaching school and staying home with our little guy. Turns out, life stays just as busy but in totally different ways.
