Quick Update

Wow! It seems like forever since I've written anything on here! Life certainly has a way of swooping in and taking over everything, doesn't it?

Just One of Those Days

Henry woke up late today, which, on the surface sounds great. More sleep for Mommy, right? And while that's true, it means that his naps are off schedule, so he's off schedule, so he's harder to get along with. Add to that my decision to clean the dreaded bathtub today, and John can't get home soon enough!

Admiration

Everyone has friends whom they admire. Friends who always have the right attitude or the right answers. Friends who stay the course and don't get distracted by extraneous stuff. And when you have those friends, you're lucky, and if you're smart, you pay attention to the way they live their life.

My New Favorite Picture

My New Favorite Picture

I could stare at his sweet little face all day!

Anonymous

I have a poem in a frame and, in all likelihood, I bought it at a yard sale when I was like 12 or something, but I've kept it around because it's so true. I have no clue who wrote it, so Anonymous has written yet another little gem. It goes like this:

My life is but a weaving between my Lord and me
I cannot choose the colors nor all the pattern see

Why?

Why is it that the one day you need your child to take their naps they don't want to?

Why can't the post office have a drive through window so you don't have to drag the little one out of the car just so you can buy some stamps?

Why can't candy be good for you?

Why is milk white?

Why am I so afraid of spiders and bugs?

Tiny Toe

Last night, John and I were lying in bed, preparing to go to sleep. You know how it sometimes seems that that's when you think of things you want to talk about? Well, that's me almost every night, much to John's chagrin. The poor guy just wants to go to sleep! Last night was different, though. John wrapped his big, strong arms around me, slid his hand down towards mine, and commented, "Your wrist is so small." And it is, always has been, probably always will be.

Middle of the Night Snuggles

I've been really tired lately, for two reasons mainly: #1--I'm staying up too late and #2--I sleep in four hour spurts. Because Henry still wakes up once to eat (usually anyway) I get to sleep beforehand for four or five hours and afterwards for three or four hours. So if you add it up, it sounds like I get between seven and nine hours sleep, which sounds great! But, when you factor in the thirty minutes or so that I'm awake feeding Henry in the middle of that stretch, I definitely don't feel like I'm getting eight hours of sleep per night!

Thinking...

So yesterday, Henry and I headed out to the Wal-mart. As I'm driving there, I hear sweet little Henry in the backseat. He's cooing and babbling and just making the sweetest sounds. And I thought, "Aww....I love this little guy so much! He means the world to me!"

Two Washcloth Supper

Tonight was a two washcloth meal. I had originally planned on making lasagna, but as I was collecting ingredients I realized I didn't have enough lasagna noodles. But I did have those large shells that look like Velveeta shells on steroids, so I used them instead. I made the sauce like I always do and just put the ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan mixture inside the shells and baked it. It was so yummy!
